- National Crimebeat is the charity of the Shrievalty Association, The Association of High Sheriffs of England & Wales. The charity encourages young people to get involved with crime reduction activities and create safer communities. Crimebeat schemes offer a great chance for young people between the ages of five and 25 to show what they can do, and how their project can help them and others in their area. Applications can be made for projects, and all projects in an area are then judged in a local competition offering cash prizes. The winner goes on to a national competition with a grand prize of £1000.
- Across North Yorkshire and the City of York we hold six Crucial Crew events annually allowing almost 10,000 children a year to attend 'hands on' safety events, with the chance to experience potentially dangerous situations, in a safe and supervised environment. Go to the website for further information plus interactive games and downloads for your mobile.
- Crimestoppers is an independent charity working to stop crime. They work for you, your friends, family and community. You can give information relating to crimes anonymously by calling 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers are not part of the Police, but they work with the Police together with businesses, schools, youth groups and other organisations in the local communities for a common goal - a safer, fairer society. Crimestoppers Youth Projects work with young people aged 11 to 16+ to encourage them to talk about the crimes that affect them.
