The 4Youth service is part of Learning, Youth & Skills within the Children & Young People's Service Directorate of North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC).
Who We Are!
The 4Youth service offers a broad range of personal & social development activities for young people age 13 - 19, through the provision of centres & clubs, residential opportunities, sport, arts and outdoor activity programmes, advice and information, and project based work, including the use of detached work and mobile outreach facilities.
The overall aim of the service is to help young people to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy & achieve, make a positive contribution & achieve economic well being.
In order to achieve this aim the 4Youth service strives to provide accessible, safe, comfortable, and healthy environments for young people across North Yorkshire often working in partnership with other agencies.
NYCC 4Youth service will work to:
- provide opportunities for young people to become involved in a range of indoor and outdoor positive activities including adventurous activities and residentials;
- provide static and mobile provision in the evenings, at weekends and during school holidays;
- provide qualified and experienced staff who positively encourage and support young people's participation;
- treat young people as individuals & actively listen to their voice and opinions;
- involve young people in decision making and or act on behalf of young people and their best interests;
- provide a range of opportunities for young people to be rewarded for their achievements;
- provide young people with access to valuable information, advice and support; and
- develop a county wide service incorporating local area youth work plans that can recognise vulnerability, and implement actions that enable all young people to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy & achieve, make a positive contribution & achieve economic wellbeing.
